Requesting a refund through Busbud is straightforward when you know the steps and eligibility rules. Check Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility depends on carrier terms and the timing of your request. Many tickets are refundable if canceled before a specific cut-off, usually set by the bus, train, or ferry operator. Always review your ticket’s fare conditions before proceeding.

  • Log in to your Busbud account or cancel here if you don't have an account
  • Go to 'My Bookings' and select the relevant trip.
  • Review the fare rules and refund eligibility displayed under your booking details.

Submit Your Refund Request

  1. From 'My Bookings,' select your trip.
  2. Look for the 'Request Refund' option—this will only appear if your booking is eligible.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm and submit your refund request.

Refund Processing and Types

Refunds can be processed as direct payments or vouchers, depending on the carrier’s policy. Processing times vary—most refunds are issued within 5–10 business days, but delays can occur, especially if operator approval is needed. You’ll receive an email update once your refund is issued.

 

Refund methods: credits, refunds to your card, and vouchers

Depending on your carrier and fare, your refund may be issued as: 

  • Refund to original payment method: Returned to the card or account you used at purchase when the fare allows it and you cancel within the required time window (for example, some carriers allow 100% card refunds if canceled 48 hours prior). 
  • Busbud credits: Stored value in your Busbud account usable on future bookings. 
  • Carrier voucher: A voucher issued by the carrier that can be applied to future travel with that company. 
    Some carriers and fares only permit credit/voucher refunds even when cancelled on time. 
  • Refund for Any Reason add-on: This optional protection, offered at checkout, covers non-refundable bookings and provides a 100% credit refund. Credits cannot be converted to cash or refunded to a card or original payment method. No cash or card refunds are provided under this add-on.

Always confirm the refund method displayed at the moment of cancellation in your account.

 

What If My Ticket Isn't Refundable?

If the 'Request Refund' button isn’t available, your fare may be non-refundable or outside the allowed time frame. Check your fare conditions or contact Busbud support for additional help or clarification about voucher options if available.
