Why has my Busbud Rewards membership level downgraded?

Every traveler starts at the Bronze level upon creating a Busbud account. As you travel, you can level up to Silver, Gold, or Platinum by hitting specific milestones within a single calendar year.

The higher your level, the higher the percentage of credits you earn on every ticket purchase.

 

Membership Levels & Milestones

To reach or maintain a level, you must meet one of the following criteria within a calendar year:

Understanding Status Downgrades

Your membership status is earned based on your activity during the previous "Earnings Window" (one calendar year).

  • Maintaining Status: If you earn a level this year, you will keep that status for the remainder of this year and the entire next calendar year.

  • Why Levels Reset: To keep your status for a third year, you must hit the milestones again during the second year. If you do not meet the requirements for your current level by December 31st, your status will reset to the highest level you actually qualified for during that year.

Example: If you earned Silver in 2024, you are guaranteed Silver status throughout 2025. However, if you only use 3 tickets in 2025, you will return to Bronze on January 1st, 2026.

 

Important Reminders

  • App Only: Rewards progress and membership levels are only tracked for bookings made through the Busbud App.

  • Unlocked Credits: Regardless of your level, you must use at least 5 tickets to unlock and redeem your first set of accumulated credits.
