How do I use my discount code?

If you have a Busbud discount code, you can apply it to your booking prior to finalizing your payment.

How to apply your discount code

On the website

  • Select your trip and proceed to checkout.
  • On the payment page, look for a field labeled “Promo code,” “Discount code,” or a link that says “Have a promo code?” under the Order Summary or Payment section.
  • Enter the code exactly as it appears (avoid extra spaces) and click Apply.
  • Confirm the discount appears in the Order Summary and your total updates before you complete payment.

In the mobile app

  • Choose your trip and continue to the Payment screen.
  • Tap “Have a promo code?” or “Add discount.”
  • Enter the code and tap Apply.
  • Verify the discount is reflected in the total before finalizing your booking.

Troubleshooting

  • Double-check the code: remove spaces, confirm characters, and ensure there are no typos.
  • Check expiration: make sure the code hasn’t expired and is within the one-year window.
  • Verify usage: confirm the code hasn’t already been used on a previous booking.
  • Confirm eligibility: ensure your trip, fare type, and items in the cart meet the code’s terms.
  • Try technical fixes: update the app, try a different browser, disable ad blockers, or use incognito/private mode.
  • Log in: make sure you’re signed into the correct account that received the code.

 

How to confirm your discount

  • Before paying, check the Order Summary for a line showing the discount and reduced total.
  • After booking, your confirmation page and email should reflect the discounted amount.

 

Important information

  • Discount codes can only be used once. 
  • Discounts cannot be applied after you have booked your ticket.
  • It is not possible to use discount codes received from trip operators on Busbud.

Cancellations and changes

  • If you cancel a discounted booking, the code is generally considered used and may not be reissued automatically.
  • Changing your booking after purchase may remove the discount if the new itinerary isn’t eligible. Contact support for options.
