Can my child travel on my lap?

Rules vary for travel with young children. Some operators may allow young children to travel on an adult’s lap, while others require a separate seat or ticket.

Busbud does not currently offer free child tickets or lap-child booking options. If you are traveling with a young child and would like your child to travel on your lap, we recommend contacting the operator before booking to confirm the operator’s policy.

Before booking, please confirm with the operator:

  • whether your child requires a specific seat or booster to travel due to their age,

  • whether your child can travel on your lap,

  • whether your child needs a separate seat or ticket,

  • and whether your child must be added to the passenger manifest before departure.
