What to do if your bus is late or you miss your departure

Busbud is an online booking platform for bus and train travel. We do not operate the vehicles directly. Because we are a booking service, the fastest way to get real-time updates is to contact the carrier on your ticket.

The bus is delayed

  1. Verify your location: Confirm you are at the exact departure point listed on your PDF ticket.

  2. Consult the driver: If an operator's vehicle arrives, ask the driver to validate your ticket and provide any known information regarding delays.

  3. Contact the operator: Call the bus company directly using the number in your confirmation email. They have the live GPS location of the vehicle.

  4. Wait at the station: Do not leave the departure point until you have spoken with the operator. If you leave to find other travel without notifying them, your ticket may be forfeited.

You are running late

  1. Check ticket terms: Review your booking in your account to see if your ticket is refundable or exchangeable.

  2. Cancel before departure: If your ticket allows for it, use the self-serve cancellation tool on our website before the scheduled departure time.

  3. Refund Protection: If you purchased the Refundable Protection add-on, submit a claim via the link provided in your post-purchase email. Note that these claims are processed by our partner, not Busbud.

  4. Notify the carrier: Contact the bus company before the scheduled departure. If the bus departs and they have not been notified of your situation, the ticket will be considered a "No-Show."
